Thank you :)

And you can learn 3D. There are ALOT of awesome free tutorials out there that do a great job on teaching you the basics (which is like 80% of the tools I use). But yes: it will take time (it's the same for everybody else so don't frown XD )

The biggest challenge is to learn what the program can do (think of it as a tool, a pencil, etc). Once you know the tools, you bend them to your will :).

Also draw alot. The more you develop a coherent notion of the 3D space, the better your workflow becomes. But, above all else: have fun.

Everything's awesome when your having fun.

Updated op with shotgun (917 poly) and longsword (408 poly).

Not too happy about the shotgun. Only found a side photo so the dimensions/details are a little iffy. And awfully close to 1000 poly mark.

That shotgun looks badass!
I like the round surface. As a shotgun lover in most games, this one makes me drool.

I'm still convinced you're making TF2 items. That shotgun is totally the shotgun from TF2.

@AzViz

Thank you :)

@Zag

... It has to be the render. On the shotgun I actually followed a reference so the proportions (atleast side view-wise) are correct... right?

Looks a bit stubby. What reference image did you use?

I used the image on the link above. Looking back I notice a slight tunneling effect on the barrel that I didn't apply to the model. The other details ( ammunition slot, screws, all around ribbed-ness) are better left for texturing, right?

That's a stick-em-up shotgun if I ever saw one. I like it.

Ok, fair enough. Definitely should give texturing a go on that shotgun! :)

Those boxing gloves are fantastic! Way cool and very creative.

Only issue I could see is that realistically they would remove your ability to handle small items like food and ranged weapons.

Still, everything, so cool!

I think the problem with the shotgun really is the rendering; its simple untextured appearance just gives it a tf2-style simplicity. I'm sure it'll be great after texturing, although I would still add some small extra details. Those gloves though... try submitting them to the Steam Workshop? :P

Just go to "Manage Account" at the top and then "Edit Signature" and then you can put whatever text or images (using the [IMG] bbcode tags) you want there.
